Dr Declan Humphreys, Philosopher of Technology

Hi. I am a philosopher of technology. I mostly think about things to do with AI and ethics.

I lecture in cyber security and ethics at the University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia.

I run a blog on technology and ethics, and have appeared on radio.

In 2025 I was fortunate to be selected for the prestigious ABC Top 5 Humanities Media Residency program.

My research areas of interest.

• moral responsibility of AI in business
• epistemic harms of generative AI
• AI deathbots
• ethics of pricing algorithms
